Summary

A Platform for Cooperation

5 200 professionals visited the largest in Poland fashion fair which took place on 3-5 March 2009 in the premises of Poznań International Fair. Among our guests were Grażyna Hase and Bernard Ford Hanaoka.

During TEX-STYLE Trade Fair of Fabrics, Clothing and Accessories exhibitors from Poland, Lithuania, Slovakia, Italy, Germany, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Turkey and China presented their offer of fabrics, knitwear, a wide range of haberdashery, dry goods, garment accessories, ladies', men's and teenage fashion collections for the current season.

Seminars and training sessions on tendencies in fashion, trade and marketing was the core of the Tex-Style trade fair programme.
A special guest of the fair was Wolfgang Gruschwitz, one of the best practicing Visual Merchandisers in Europe, who has worked for such brands as Coca Cola, Zara, Red Bull, Högl Shoe. An expert on arranging retail space, Gruschwitz presented the influence of emotions on customers' purchase decisions. He also explained how to create effective and functional retail interiors which by their very ambience will positively affect customers' emotions and ultimately lead to boosting sales.

Will fashion in the forthcoming seasons see a steady evolution or a revolution? The answer to this question was sought in presentations delivered by experts on tendencies in fabrics and accessories for the spring/summer 2010 season and ready-to-wear fashion for autumn/winter 2009/2010 season. The chances of fashion trends to be accepted on the market was also  discussed. In addition, the experts answered the question of where the trade in Poland is going and what is the significance of brand in retail trade. New trends in promoting companies was also presented. An elaboration on the subject of Visual Merchandising was seminars on the significance of elements aimed at direct display of garments - i.e. hangers and mannequins - in creating the retail outlet's image in the eyes of a customer.

The March fair saw the tenth appearance of the Future project, featuring presentations at the exhibition stands and fashion shows of garments by designers making their debuts. This space, dedicated to people who have just embarked on their career path in the profession, provided a fresh perspective on tendencies in fashion, but most importantly it will give an opportunity for cooperation between designers and manufacturers. The catwalk in Pavilion 4 was undoubtedly  a venue for presenting interesting ideas and innovative solutions in garment-making.

TEX-STYLE Trade Fair of Fabrics, Clothing and Accessories (Pavilion 4) was supplement the offer of NEXT SEASON Contracting Exhibition, BODY STYLE Exhibition of Lingerie and Beach Fashion and SPECIAL DAYS Exhibition of Wedding, First Communion and Evening Fashion (Pavilion 5).
